Our petrified wood is sourced from Borneo, Sumatra and Central Java where volcanoes were active millions of years ago. The force of the volcano eruption was such that surrounding forests were uprooted. A thick layer of burning volcanic ash covered them with nearby forest and being consumed by volcano ash. The heat of the volcano ash sterilises the fallen trees and destroys bacteria normally found in decay.
